Artist Statement:

Seeing into the soul and realizing a unique personality through

expression moves me towards my own style of painting, helping

me to create animal portraits that are alive and vibrant. Although

animals are my first love, I also live in a colorful world of abstract

art, new wave digital images and surreal representations of

nature and life, which allow the viewer to create their own

conclusions and individual meanings from my artworks that are

all their own…Laura Barbosa

About The Artist:

Laura is a selfrepresenting Artist with 20 years experience painting animals and subjects of fantasy. She is best known for her Animal Portraits, Surreal Representations, New Wave Digital Art and Colorful Abstracts. Her creations have been described as Open Minded, Alive and Inventive. She has an amazing capacity to create original works of art in a range of different styles. Being a selftaught artist, Lauras influence has been inspired by nature, her love for animals, urban environments and fantastical thoughts from her mind. Often, people say that she has a natural ability to capture an animals soul. Many who have ordered pet portraits have said that their pets seem to be looking at them. Biography:

Laura Barbosa’s paintings have been exhibited in group shows in

galleries including The Splash Contemporary Gallery in Asbury

Park, NJ and The Stover Mill Gallery and Tinicum Arts Festivals in

Erwinna, PA.

In addition, her work is on permanent display in a public

collection at the Community Medical Center on Route 37 in Toms

River, NJ.

Ms. Barbosa is also a part of the creation team and a

participating artist in "The Glory of Horses" traveling Mural which

will be touring the US and Europe for a period of three years.

Laura Barbosa was born in Belleville, NJ in 1967.
