Peter Wileman was born in London in 1946.
His career began as a studio junior at Hallmark Cards, where he studied lettering and design for five years. After a spell in advertising he then spent three years as art editor of a sports magazine at IPC. He left to pursue a career as a freelance illustrator and artist.
Peter Wileman has exhibited for the last six years at the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Society of Oil Painters, of which, in 2001, he became an Associate Member.
