Richard Ryan was born in Santiago de Chile in 1974. He planned to become and artist from a young age and studied art in Stockholm, Sweden before beginning a career as a professional photographer. Ryan always seeks to express a surreal reality, blending beauty and drama in his pictures. His philosophy is to create freely and not to follow existing trends.
In both Ryan’s photographs and, clearly, in The Manhattan Art Portfolio project there is a strong sense of narrative, like a scene from a movie or a short story. Ryan’s art has been published in books and magazines all over Europe and his photos has been exhibited in Stockholm, Rome, Milan and Paris.
